The whole family is disqualified is fucking bullshit. There are Americans with American children that are being disqualified just because they had a dependent or spouse as ITIN instead of SS. That doesn't even mean they are illegal... You could literally have a dependent living from another country if you are supporting them like a parent or sibling as long as you are providing for them.

Why would Americans working their assets off be penalized for marrying someone or taking care of a family member that doesn't have a SS?
