What do you pick?

The band or artist will be randomly selected and will be one that is at least semi-well known, ranging from top 40 artists to certain indie bands, rappers, country singers, etc. Any time you hear music from other artists, your brain will hear it as music from the one that was selected. Same thing happens if you try to go to a concert.

Only while playing that specific video game. And the more elaborate songs, especially ones with vocals, will be replaced by the selected band/artist.

yeah if I can pick the band. I listen to a few that have a ton of releases in a wide variety.

If I write music, then can I listen to that too? Or does the song disappear as soon as the mastering process is completed?

Its weird how things change as you get older. Ten years ago this would have been an instant hell no. Now...pssh, I barely have time to care about music and would rather have peace and quiet than worry about what to listen to. Keeping it one favorite band would probably help streamline my time even more. Ill take the money.

How do the rules for this hypothetical work if youre in a place that you cant control the music...like if you attend a bar or wedding? Edit: Nvm, obviously this would fall under your brain would hear the one band/artist. I was thinking for a dance or something where it would change how you would dance...obvious this could throw you off and complicates the decision. Might have to pass.

Other people can listen to it but not you. You can play/sing your own music (and you will hear it while you're actively playing it), but if you try to play it back in any way, you will hear it as the band/artist.

so how do i go about arranging/composition in this? whenever I've made songs I'll record each part and listen to a rough version of it a bunch before it's done.

You would need to find someone else to do the arranging/composition part.

Then its not completed music and wouldnt be a band/artist so itd be fine. Im guessing the rule here is recorded songs/albums that are released as copyrighted music.

While life would certainly be easier with an extra million dollars, I think I would pass. Im an avid music collector and get a lot of happiness out of listening to music. Also makes driving long distances and working more bearable.
