It's straight-up superior to dual stick aiming (although DS should always be an option), but it seems like Nintendo consoles are the only ones that get games with gyro aiming as an option. Meanwhile, you could likely count on one hand the number of PS4 games that support gyro aiming, and the Xbox One controller doesn't even have a gyroscope.

And it's not like Nintendo is the only developer that cares about gyro aiming, because there are quite a few Switch ports that have it. To my knowledge, every third-party multiplat on the Switch that has gyro aiming (including Skyrim, DOOM, Fortnite, and RE 5&6) doesn't have it as an option on PS4.

Definitely an option for FPSes, but IMO some games are better suited to a controller (aside from aiming), like GTA V.

True fact: i didnt realize that this was a thing until several hours of playing. I thought they just added noise into the aiming to make it more difficult. Turns out it was just my hands making the noise.

Also this. I thought I was experiencing drift also not realizing it was a game feature. I played for a few hours feeling like either the bow and arrow physics were awful in the game, or something was wrong with my joycon. I felt dumb when I realized it was motion controlled. I tried it for 10 hours or so and just didn't like it.

I really dislike all forms of motion aiming. Except for the PSVR Aim controller, which is an excellent piece of hardware that, despite having basically 1:1 motion controlled aiming, still has twin stick controls for movement and turning because pure motion controls are garbage.

Basically, it's easier to make finer movements since you're essentially aiming with your hands. I feel like a good comparison would be drawing/writing with a writing utensil vs. using a joystick to draw/write.
