the majority of all genres ain't worth listening to, but such a vast amount gets released that there's plenty that's good. i get it if people don't like wading through shit, but i kinda like doing that lol. even if something sucks, i can still be entertained.

True! I guess I don't really know the hate for rap's bad side is worse than the hate for other genre's bad sides.
I never really thought about it. My guess is that it tends to be more vulgar? And people who dislike vulgar stuff hate it adamantly.

I would say I generally like rap (though for me it's mostly based on what has the best instrumentals behind it), but I don't think that liking one rap song would mean you couldn't say "I don't like rap music".

I don't like Christian contemporary worship music, but there are a few songs that I think are good.

People hear a couple songs made for a largely 12-14 year old/TikTok demographic and use that to write off an entire genre with a catalog spanning 40 years.

Obviously these are people who should not be taken seriously.

I think rap was alright in it's early years, until gangster rap was invented and actually managed to infect and ruin the entire genre. Kinda like what happened with eurodance when bands like Aqua and Toybox came along.

Nowadays almost every rap track has gotta have at least a bit of 'ghetto gangstah vibe' in it for some reason. It's ridiculous.

Rap used to be more niche so the stuff people who didnt seek it out heard was really good breakout stuff.

Now its mainstream and just pop music and most of it is lazy.

This, I don't like rap, but can find a few songs I dig (How could anyone lie and say they don't like It's Tricky?"
I don't like country, but there is that small small percentage I like, usually much older stuff like Kenny Rogers had good stuff.

I find it interesting tho out of all genre's for some reason people have problems with people who don't like rap.
Also I never liked eminem. I had a friend that would play him in the mid 2000s.
