It's a virus. Its ultimate goal in life is to get to a place where it's 98F and like 70% water. >_> How are heat and humidity supposed to kill it?

Viruses survive longer on surfaces in moderate temperatures and stay airborne longer in low humidity. People also have stronger immune systems in warmer months.

Cause the flu tends to die down in the summer, so idiots thought this would be the exact same thing.

Ugh, outside is going to be like virus soup with how humid it gets down here in the south.

Wouldnt it be the opposite? Unless Im misunderstanding what you mean by soup.

I'm an idiot who read it wrong. Now maybe it being like a sauna outside will finally be a plus though but I'm not holding my breath.

Evidence shows that warmer, more humid temperatures do slow it down. The weather never truly eliminates viruses.

This is actually worse overall imo. Lulls us into a false sense of security that it's gone due to declining numbers only to come back with a vengeance in the fall.

So you now admit you were wrong and hot weather does have an effect.

What? I never once said it would have no effect. Just that it won't kill it. It's worse to slow it down and create a false sense of security if it comes right back when everyone's guard is down.

Gives us a few months of reprieve so small businesses dont go completely under and we can prepare for when temperatures drop again. Plus, the Gulf/Atlantic states are supposed to see a more active hurricane season this year...a bad time to be without steady income and supplies.
