I think they could've survived if they embraced game rentals. Ever since the death of Blockbuster, the niche of game rentals has been completely dead outside of GameFly and Redbox. They'll probably survive in some form as an online business, but I don't see the retail stores lasting beyond maybe a couple privately owned ones if they do the Blockbuster model.
