So much for acting smug about Californians being more "responsible" than states like Ohio, Texas, or Michigan.

Did you really only post this to quell your hate boner for California? lol. If anything this proves what smart people have been telling you forever...California isnt some liberal safe space like you cry about. A lot of chunks are red.

Perhaps you should stop gloating in those protest topics about California being better at dealing with COVID than other states.

California had more Trump voters than every state except Texas and Florida.

But at any rate, these protests are small affairs; put the four of them together and you'd get a fraction of the crowd at a minor league soccer game.

California, as a state, is MUCH better at dealing with this than other states. It has its share of dumb Trump supporters like anywhere - as evidenced by these protests - but the difference is that it has enough sensible people to outweigh these people and not be a total shitshow like places like Florida.

While I agree that California sucks, they weren't wrong with the stay at home orders. Sure, I have Cabin Fever, but I'd rather not get Coronavirus.

This. San Diego is very red as anyone who lives here will tell you. We have a pretty good mix though.

I know a few of the idiots who went there. Its been a real uphill battle with trump supporters here though. Heres hoping those idiots dont lead to massive spikes and thus longer closures.

Morons.

What I don't understand about any of this is that, when I go grocery shopping we're all within inches of each other, reaching over people for toilet paper. But golf courses, where I'm like 40 friggin' acres from the nearest person, they're closed?! What is the logic?

Umm, Democratic supermajority in the state legislature says otherwise especially when districts are drawn by a neutral third party.

There are red areas but they clearly are not the majority.

Not surprised. Youll see a lot more protesting the longer blue-collar workers are forced to go without their salaries. Shutting down everything this long for a virus with a +90% survival rate for most individuals is excessive. Only people who are remotely comfortable are the NEETs.

Are you actually implying that a virus thst could kill up to 10% of the infected shouldn't shut things down? This virus doesn't kill that many btw, but your post is laughably misinformed if 10% dying didn't scare the shit out of you.

seriously? Its about necessity. We need to eat. We need food and water and proper hygiene items. Your not supposed to go to the store and hang out. Youre supposed be in and out quick. Its about limiting your time outside to slow the spread.

LA has the worst numbers out of all the other counties in California for deaths and infected, and it's no contest.

Even if you include all those "its allll red" regions.

If that's the case make it mandatory curbside delivery or something and don't let people physically in the stores. Granted I know that would probably be difficult to pull off. I get necessity Vs. non-neccessity, but you're more at risk in the crowd at Walmart than you are playing golf, don't you think?

The logistics of that are harder than you think. Many stores dont have a system for that set up and its not easy to create one in a week. Even services like instacart has availability issues and thats with people able to shop themselves. Restaurants have switched to take out or drive thru only. That was easier since the infrastructure has been in place. In a pinch this is the best we can do right now.

yes. You are more at risk at wal mart. If we could wed shut down wal Mart too but we cant. People need to eat. They dont need to play golf. Its like trying to create a budget and cutting your grocery budget in half just so you can rent one movie a week. You can go without the movie for a bit.
