Eveline as a small child hallucination on the VHS tape of Mia's failed escape?

Sure Mia saw her but that was a hallucination. On the recording we'd either see the old lady or nothing. Unless some other random little girl happened to be there at that moment.

Doesn't add up.

For one thing I don't think she has the power to make Ethan see hallucinations inside VHS recordings.

But for another, Ethan sees her as an old woman for (almost) the entire game. He doesn't eat the corpses and is barely infected. If she could make him see her as a little girl she would have done so the entire time, not just on one tape.

I mean all she has to do is distort what he sees on the TV screen. Shouldn't be too hard. If he is infected enough so that goop juice can be used to reattach limbs, I think it is enough for him to see visual hallucinations.

I don't think the latter is true. Corpses help "feed" the mold, but I don't think Evelyn needs them to create molded. Otherwise I doubt a little girl would be able to overpower a ship full of people.

The video tapes are definitely kind of a plot hole. The only reasonable explanation is that the player's playing and what Ethan sees aren't the same thing.

I forgot that she did kill her first "dad," but she did that by infecting him and then using that connection to kill him. She's not vomiting because she ate people (which I think is what you're implying), it's just what she's capable of as an E-type.

I even went through the trouble of finding the in-game files explaining this because I thought I might be wrong, but it turns out I'm right.

This is them talking about the Mold itself in technical terms.

Mia even says "Shes vomitting! Far more than her bodyweight!" and that's when people start dying and being infected.

She can create mold that effects people, but she can't create molded monsters. Those are corpses of people who got infected by the mold.

Think about it. She's a bioweapon that was designed to NOT leave zombies around everywhere like the G-Virus, and not damage equipment.

If she could create molded monsters without corpses, she's a useless bioweapon. "Yay we wiped out the entire population of Russia and can take it over without firing a shot... Oh but there's now 2 billion molded monsters there who will kill us on sight."

In the video game RE7 the main villain looks like an old lady but makes the main character halluncinate that she is a small child.

In this part of the game one of the characters is filming what's happening on VHS and yet somehow she looks like a small child on the tape.

Which makes no sense, even if the girl filming was halluncinating, on the tape it would look like an old woman.

This is a minor error on the developers part that I am comedically blowing out of proportion as a joke.

If you are watching the film while infected, then she's probably causing you to hallucinate the same thing Mia sees. If someone not infected were to watch, they'd likely see nothing.

In Not A Hero we find research papers in the mines that say when she was there she was young but rapidly began to age. It was a result of not getting a medication I believe, it also affected her temperament and mentality.
