 The SNES version of Final Fight replaced Poison with Sid because of Nintendo's stigma toward violence against women. Canonically, Poison is transgender. Actually because Sid replaced Poison, Poison was never transgender to begin with. She was cis female in Japan release and always will be cis female, regardless of fanfic
