i need to connect my pc to the router. routers in the other room so i need one of those long ass ethernet cables, maybe 25 feet or so. does it matter at all which cable i get? cat 5e or whatever the fuck? im just trying to play melee with low ping

Make sure it's a Cat 5e or a Cat 6 cable.

Regular Cat 5 cable is NOT sufficient for Gigabit speeds. Probably doesn't matter for your purposes, nor am I certain that you can even buy regular Cat 5 anymore. But just figured you should know since I ran into this myself lately when I moved.
