I kind of get it though. If you're white, you probably grew up in a westernized first world country and were privileged. It's eye-opening to travel around the world and see how other people are living. Some people are pretty cringe about it though, rather than being humbled by it.

I don't think you're taking into account that people need the money they work for.
A) $15 is above minimum in most places and there exists a little thing called vacation hours/time off, if someone is making that theyre probably accumulating those hours.
B) Again, im clearly not talking about people living paycheck to paycheck who can barely afford to live.
