I feel like I'm not doing nearly enough damage. I've been upgrading my weapons and gear, yet I'm getting wrecked and needing to heal up after nearly every fight.

Just beat the Airbuster with Tifa having like 3HP and Cloud and Barrett dead for the third time during the fight.

The fuck am I doing wrong

Standard attacks are only there to charge your AP or whatever its called. Use your skills a bit more.

Isn't airbuster just tough in general? How much did you downgrade him ahead of time?

I just recently realized there was a quicker way to do that than pausing time and going through menus just need to get used to playing that way after spending 9 hours the shitty way

As far as weapon skill - I don't believe I've been doing that part.

Got rid of 3 AI cores, one M box, and two bombs

You need to take advantage of their weakness until they are "under pressure" then you need to quickly use focus attacks to stagger then and then unload with your highest dps attacks.

I just made Barret the heal tank on that fight and mained him, chakra, the weapon that redirect damage to Barret, barrier, steelskin and healing materia. Enemies will always aggro the player you command so keeping hate was easy, just need to block those stupid stun laser.
