what made you want to quit? How, what, why?

Ive been drinking a half gallon every 2 days for 4 years now, and I dont want to quit. Theres something wrong with me.. theres always regret in the daytime.. My body is not actually physically addicted, only my brain. Ive never had withdrawals during dry periods.

Fuck. Im a drinker,,, but I dont want to stop. Its not good

Don't go thinking you got immunity just cause you haven't gotten withdrawals yet, it'll catch up with you if you keep at that pace.

Nah, Ill go from this pace to going cold turn for 2 months in the summer, or a week or 2 every now and than of abstinence in the winter.

Yea if you add mine up it's like $12 a day for a sixer.

Weekends it's like $30 for a couple of twelves.

And that's all the time.

There's nothing wrong with booze if you just drink it in moderation. I love the taste of beer, spirits, cocktails and I never feel addicted or feel the craving for it. Sometimes it's nice to just sit back by myself outside and have a cold beer or hang out with friends and make some cocktails.

Gave up Korean rice wine after it got a little to expensive for me. I'm not really addicted to it, I'm just quite fond of the taste.

Alcohol ruined my mental health a lot through the years. Im now balanced with the help of therapy, low dose ssri and the tools I learned from therapy. And weed has been there for me too. I dont get anxiety with it during or after.

Its going to happen if you continue with the weed. Like a ticking timebomb. Heed my words. Don't say I didn't warn you. Panic attacks are the worst.

Are you bored? Lonely? Sad?

I honestly believe we drink because it replaces something that's missing in our lives.

I drink out of boredom, or for fun, and socially.. I dont drink when Im sad typically.

I believe that last statement for sure

I had to do rehab, I do support groups now.

I'm honestly surprised you aren't getting withdrawal symptoms yet, but I assure you they aren't far off.

And trust me, they're a nightmare.

Look into CBD or CBN.

Yeah dont think so. Ive had bad panic attacks before and I now know how to handle them and how to be preventive with handling my emotions and thoughts in a healthy manner every day.

Look into CBD or CBN.

Everyone is different. You shouldn't go around telling people it's inevitable they'll experience panic attacks.

Dude I made a drinking topic around this time time of day, around this time of month last year. And you were posting videos of yourself saying whats up, taking shots of.. some booze, and chasing it with pickle juice.. good memory lol, except for my mind splitting hangover the next day lmao

...I'm fairly certain you have me confused with someone else.

It's not impossible that I did that but I don't think I ever used pickle juice as a chaser.

I don't know if I ever fully quit it. I still get stupid drunk every year or two. Definitely don't drink like I used to that's for damned sure.

I'm about where you are at TC, I'll drink through a 5th of tequila in two days, typically 3-4 bottles a week. Always with 6 to 10 beers a night. I don't want to quit either, I take a ton of vitamins and supplements, exercise, eat healthy so I don't feel like complete dogshit constantly everyday and i'm an extremely functional alcoholic. It never effects my job or marriage, I only drink at night, I will not drive even if i've had one single beer which does nothing for me anymore.

My issue is the sleep. I quit for a day or two and it's complete insomnia. Then I feel awful until I give in and get drunk to get a good night of rest again.

There's a couple others around that hang out in our drinking threads that are similar also. I don't know how I would even go about quitting at this point.

I'm an alchoholic too man its honestly hard to quit. I tried once but only lasted 2 months. Longest I went was 8 months but thats only because I wasn't allowed to get any in Afghanistan so I switched over to smoking as a substitute

Instead of getting drunk everyday and blacking out I cut back to drinking once a week. But honestly this quarantine shit makes it hard

My name is SpaceBear and I'm an alcoholic. I was drunk every day for the past 18 months before quarantine. Working in a bar and having unlimited free alcohol is bad.
