lincoln002 04/13/20 12:50:40 AM #1:	I was learning Chinese but I don't know if it's going to be put to much use given the circumstances with China. I speak Spanish so Italian and Portuguese would be easy to pick up, but I don't know if I'd put those languages to any use in my life. I was thinking German so I could read the original Faust, but my friend was telling me it's a really hard language to learn, and other than reading Faust there isn't much else I want to do with German. Its generally considered, all things equal, tougher than the other Germanic languages and the Romance languages, but after those its the easiest language for English speakers to learn. But the real answer is learn the one youre most interested in. Motivation is probably the single most important factor for adult language learners, so ignore practical considerations.
