Yeah it was refreshing. Vin diesel's character was interesting.

Also surprisingly seeing muslims as the religious characters in an American film and portrayed fairly positively.

This released about a year before 9/11 so I guess that is why. If this released a year or two later the corporate suits would've definitely had that changed.

I wanna know what the Planet was like before most the life on it was destroyed by the monsters.

Great movie. It went under the radar for alot of people. I remember renting this one and enjoying it enough to buy it.

Really solid mix of horror, sci-fi, and action. Vin Diesel is great when he's a mostly silent badass. The sequel took a weird turn but was still pretty good. Also Karl Urban is always welcome.

Yeah. Honestly "not bad" is underselling it.

It's not a masterpiece but it's a good film.

It's got some weirdly deep lore but that's just window dressing. It's still got some good action. The whole prison planet part is great.
