No one is flying right now. What are they supposed to do? Pay people until they got into debt and then have to shut down and result in losing 100% of their workforce?

For those who aren't savvy to the industry, Boeing has been out of work for about 3 weeks and work is suspended indefinitely it's not to protect their workers from COVID19 but it is a result from airlines and air travel stocks going down from the pandemic. They've been battling Washington D.C. for what their role will be in the stimulus package

Many suspect the 10% cut of the workforce is being held like hostage so Washington will get them a sweeter deal something like Way To Big To Fail, in 2008 it was To Big To Fail

So you want them to fire 80% of their workforce in bankruptcy?

Also many companies are choosing to furlough and lay off workers because of the CARES act since it significantly boosts unemployment.

They need to exercise all options before cutting jobs, the fact they want to cut jobs almost first tells me they're just holding their employees hostage because it's a big headline.

Ask what Boeing Workers Union thinks first before we ask what Boeing thinks should happen.

They already suspended their dividend and the CEO and Board is forgoing pay so I don't think you're really in the know about them like you think you are...

I really do want to know what their union has to say first because they know what is best for their workers and I don't think they're going to let involuntary layoffs be done so easily, this is Boeing's upper managments fault they should have planned for crisis like this

So what I suggest is this also:

If there's a 10% layoff in Boeing it needs to include all levels from bottom to top!

The workers should be made at their employee, why all eggs in one basket? Maybe they should have been building trains as well as airplanes or something

I would call the CEO a bitch. Now is the time to innovate bitch, not sit on your ass. There is a bridge in Seattle that needs to be fixed too. Why won't the CEO step up and say hey I got a workforce here doing nothing and they need to get paid I got the machinery and the labor to fix your bridge cut us a deal and we'll fix it.

Something like that but all this CEO does is lose money and ask for bail outs

This is why C-Suite Severance Packages need Federal laws restricting them or limiting them to being the same as your average worker.

The fact that arbitrary Severance Packages are allowed to be written into contract is complete and utter BS.
