I very badly want earphones that leave my ear open completely. These seem like the right path. Anyone have any experience?

I tried my friend's phones once.

It was a mind-blowing experience

I'm hoping to be able to try them before I commit. Glad to hear people like them

I've got the Trekz Titanium I use for running and have used them when making calls but need to be hands free for other stuff.
They're pretty good, I can't wear the in ear headphones for long so these are great for me

Bone conduction headphones sound like something from the more schlocky end of the science-fiction market, so I must absolutely know what they are and how they work!

Instead of the sound going down your ear canal into your ear, it goes along the bones in your ear

I feel like there was a missed opportunity for these things to be called headbones.

I've seen them referred to as bonephones.

Sounds like a good way to get bone cancer or something.

Ok but how? I'm guessing you don't drill them into the bones.

You place them next to a bone near your ear, and when they vibrate they cause the bone to vibrate.

I've heard they are uncomfortable for people with glasses. I've been wanting to try them out as well but when I heard that it put me off.
