It feels like a combination of Metal Gear Solid and Skyrim. Tons of Stealth gameplay and an interesting story with lots of characters.

What's crazy is apparently this isn't even the best of the series. I'm glad I download it for free when it was a PS Plus game.

Lots of people got pissed with the game because right when it felt like the game was ramping up to enter its last 5 hours, it ends there.

Almost like some stuff was purposefully held back for DLC.

Everything in the game is wonderful though, especially as a free game.

Would you recommend Human Revolution?

Square cut the game in half to sell it later, but the 1st half sold like crap, so they shelved it.

It was more like what happened to Halo 2. They originally intended for the story to be longer but Prague ended up being bigger than expected. Which makes sense since it's by far bigger than anything else in the series.

Really? I beat it several times and the story definitely had a beginning middle and satisfying end.

Because when you get past the universal ammo and awkward graphics, it's got very high quality writing and insight into various political systems.

MD has terrible graphics. I have a pretty high end machine and couldn't get anything up over medium.

HR is very good except for the last minute of the game.

Wait they fixed the boss fights? I'll have to play it again. I always loved that game, but having my build make boss fights tougher always annoyed me. I was also younger and a button masher back then, so that's probably hurt me more than the way the fights were designed.

SE/Eidos anounced early-on that Mankind Divided was going to be a multi-part episodic release.

I played and beat both the vanilla version and the Director's Cut version of Human Revolution.

DE:HR--DC (lol) has more than tweaked enemies. The DLCs, packs and missions **, are fully-integrated into the main game. Boss areas are expanded and environmental hazards added for more in-battle strategies and options. It also adds NG+ mode ***. DC changes the game's feel--well worth playing, imo.
.

** Pro-Tip (from a blog that I wrote years ago): 38 Praxis Kits (earned from ~190,000 XP, no loose PKs picked-up) is the maximum number of PKs, both used and unused, that you can earn or find *before* starting the "Missing Link" mission AND recover--plus whatever PKs you find or earn during the mission--*after* the mission. Any more than 38 PKs, no matter how or where you got them, will be destroyed (not returned to you).
*** n.b.: NG+ removes the Praxis Kit limit, as mentioned above, from Missing Link and the rest of the game.

This. I was having a good time until that DLC started, and then I lost all motivation to continue. This was probably several years ago.

Mankind Divided is one of the most underrated games of the generation. I think it gets so much hate because of the terrible pre-order campaign (which was eventually dropped), but the damage was already done.

It's because they improved on the gameplay of Human Revolution (which sucked because it was based on super predictable and exploitable AI routines) but took a dump on any and all possibly writing that could have been explored.

I mean, the two original Deus Ex games were about the story, the deeper meaning, the symbolism behind peoples' names and organizational names. They were commentaries on real political affairs based on real, deeper conspiracies (and some sci-fi stuff of course).

Mankind Divided was a super shallow examination of racial segregation. That's about it. And they did a shitty job of trying to actually address that as a theme. They just make this world where it's normal biological people versus people with implants and don't develop that any further.

The end sequence was awkward and embarrassing, even worse than HR's, and the story doesn't have a true ending.

Missing Link takes all of Jensen's inventory and *will destroy Praxis Kits* to keep gamers from getting more PKs than available upgrades. Next time, better design.

I beat human revolution and mankind divided, both games are epic. I beat them both 2 times actually which I barely ever play through games more than once. Jenson is one of the coolest characters around. One playthrough I went through doing whatever I wanted, the other play through I beat without killing anyone. Its rare to be able to play through any game without killing a single person. The only other one I did that in is Dishonored, got the Clean Hands trophy. Feels good to save a world without being a murderer.

I'm not following, what's the problem? Why care about having more skill points than available skills? Or is it just the principel of the matter?

It would be like if you went to a drive-through, ordered a full meal, paid for it, and drove away. The catch: the window-server didn't put your sandwich in the bag because they knew it *might* leak, soak the bag, and cause the whole meal to tear-out the bottom before you could eat it. What logic!?

Are you going to say, "I'm glad they didn't put that sandwich in the bag! It might have soaked and torn out of the bag onto the ground or all over my lap!"? Really?

How about... a *better bag*? Or a *drier sandwich*? Or just say "*NO*!!!" [ Say each of these in your best Sam Kinison screaming voice... ]
.

If it was important enough for the developers to steal PKs from our inventory, it was important enough to tell us *in-advance*--our choice when/if to keep harvesting PKs.

[ Btw, NG+ allows you to harvest and use or save as many PKs as you can find or XP-grind... anytime. ]

maybe it's not quite as egregious if you have never played the game without it, but if you have, it definitely gives you a feeling of dissonance with the rest of the game.

It's classic storytelling flow--the fall of the hero at the end of the second act before their third act comeback.

However, no indication was given that having too many PKs might cause problems. The game stealing gamer's "over-the-limit" PKs was regrettably stupid.
