And I'm an essential employee.

I'm not scared of getting it, personally. But, my mom and my aunt, they're 66 and 70 years old, respectively. They live in my house currently thanks to some tough choices we had to make, and I'm worried now that we're about to really get hit hard by this virus and that I might pass it on to them. Already used up my vacation time. No more personal either. I have some sick time but I'm already scheduled for the next week with no one texting back to see if they can cover.

I dunno what to do. Thankfully I have a fair amount in savings, but I don't know how to approach this and still come out gainfully employed, and healthy.

City of 15k residents. Not big, but not a ghost town either. While my work does its best with all the guidelines, we still have to touch money.

While my mother is generally pretty healthy, it's my aunt that has a fair amount of health issues, which is mostly where my worry stems from.

Maybe I do worry too much. But I don't have any other family. It's just the three of us left.

start wearing gloves and a mask everywhere. Especially at home.
Wash hands a lot.

Really the only thing you can do.

I live in a college town in West Virgina. We went from being the last holdouts of the East Coast to having the most serious community spread in the state because of mismanagement of patients returning to their retirement home from the hospital. 0 to 50 in a week. My 97 year old grandmother is there and theres nothing I can do for her but talk to her on the phone.

Your hands are tied by a situation completely out of your control. All you can do is to do your part at work at limiting self exposure and potential spread. Tell your parents the things you need to. Keep a little distance and check your temperature daily if possible.

Most of all, just understand theres nothing that worrying is going to do. Be smart, and be safe as you can. Unfortunately, you probably arent fortunate enough to be able to just stop working, but you can be as safe as you can.

Is it possible for you to limit your interactions with them? At the least, hugging, hand shaking and anything where you are very close should probably stop entirely.

It sucks and Im sorry you have to really worry about that now.
