Must suck so much for seniors, not being able to go to prom, games, regular senior year hangouts.

I don't think anyone in high school actually posts here, lol. It's not 2006 anymore, teens don't use forums aside from Reddit.

I'm a high school teacher. We're teaching through online courses. It's a really hard transition but my students are mostly cooperating. Parents have been supportive, thank God.

My admin is the only thing working against me, which is odd because they're usually good. They've mandated that we make direct one to one phone contact with all students in each of our classes three times a week, and then document each call in an online report. That's over 270 phone calls per week for me alone.

On top of that, on Friday one of my admin observed a Zoom meeting I was hosted (we're required to have at least one with the whole class per week, I hate it, I greatly prefer recording my own Youtube videos and letting them watch them). I received a very negative evaluation from my admin because "only 2 or 3 students were answering the questions you asked". I'm not sure how they expect that I get students to participate in asking questions when I can't see them. I have the power to "unmute" their microphones to direct them to speak, but that's creepy as fuck and I will not be doing that.

That's insane. That would be more one on one contact with a teacher in a week than I had with most teachers throughout all of highschool and probably middle school too.

My bosses kids go to a private school with block scheduling so they are doing 3 classes a day, 4 days a week, via the internet.
