Yeah, I didn't think this movie was going to do well at the box office. Pretty certain it would have bombed very hard at the box office. But as a Disney + movie? Yeah, that works perfectly for this film. I think it will gain an actual fanbase on Disney +.

If you liked the books, it's almost a guarantee that you'll hate it. You remember how Artemis is a villain protagonist who kidnaps a fairy and holds her for ransom? The movie makes Artemis a plucky Disney hero who teams up with fairies to save his dad.

Disney is kinda smart to move these middle of the road stuff to Disney+ rather than delay it.

Even if it gets another couple hundred thousand people on the service, they are likely never going to stop their subscription.

They also fucked up Holly Short's boss by changing him from a man into a woman. Usually I don't care about that, but a reasonably big aspect of Holly's character is that she's the first female officer in the fairy police. I also didn't notice the laziness when I watched it a few weeks ago. Holly and Mulch are supposed to be really short, but they're just people-sized.

What is it about these post-Harry Potter YA adaptations? These movies all the have the same 'look' or feel. It's hard for me to explain it but it's just like, awful.
