kinda made me think of a Cohen Brothers movie with some Tarantino touches, until the end, where it was all Tarantino.

I really liked it.

I just watched it for the first time a few nights ago. It was alright I guess, but overall pretty boring.

It's far from boring. Just a slower burn, like I said

I dunno how you can find Cliff's encounter at the camp boring, or the revisionist ending where Dalton finally feels redeemed

It's clear that Tarantino just wanted to make a love letter to making movies in general. The ending was all Tarantino, though you're right in that it's a lot more restraint compared to his previous movies where he goes all out in them.

Picking out a handful of entertaining scenes doesn't mean the rest of the movie isn't boring. It's full of good moments, separated by a lot of nothing.

Well, "boring" is subjective. I was entertained through the whole movie, even when it slowed down.
