I had a cockatiel that I sadly had to put down last month after 20 years. I'm not ready to love again, especially such a commitment as serious a parrot.

My senior citizen parents have a 15 or so year old African Grey, he is really smart and fun to interact with. Thing says plenty of actual words and appears to understand what he is saying so I say those birds are great pets for adults but not so good for kids.
