Makes me glad to live in the middle of butt fuck nowhere. People also need to understand that fleeing the epicenter is like running into tall grass when you're on fire. All you're doing is spreading the shit around and straining resources that aren't equipped to deal with the influx of people. Our government officials are telling people to stay the fuck away from cottage country if you don't actually live there.

Trump severely fucked up America's response to the virus by downplaying and his mismanagement. End result is we're seeing a much higher spread than we would have had we taken measures earlier

Yeah, this is the one situation where robust mass transit is really bad. Buses and especially subways definitely helped it blow up.
Add in NYC's global status as an economic hub and a giant tourist attraction, and it was never going to do very well. Trump bungled everything and DeBlasio was dumb too. Cuomo is also content to let Riker's fester.

Yeah this is one of the few times that living in Saint Louis has been beneficial. The shitty urban sprawl keeps the population density down. Our airport is shit so there isn't a ton of connecting traffic through it. We don't get tons of business travel and despite our Governor being a fucking moron, the cities and counties where people actually live put shelter orders in place relatively early on.
