people would just gift their kids money before they died.
And even if you ban the ability to gift people money, they could purchase services or make a sales transaction to transfer the money to another person. They could just buy their son's car for a million dollars.

And if you want to ban the ability to make purchases, and gifting, and ownership

then why would anyone work or do anything.

Are people going to work just so they can pay NEETs money so they can drop out of college and then play mario kart at home, shit posting online on how all working people's money should go to them.

Damn, how compelling.

I thought gifts were taxable over a certain threshold already. Services would be gifts. Sales transactions would be income.

You mean the best idea.

And taxes go all sorts of services. Not sure who gives a fuck about NEETs.

Further, inheritance taxes have a minimum. Those taxes would affect the massively wealthy only.

Good.

if we're so hellbent on an income tax, then just tax all forms of income as income.

Assuming this is based on my topic I'll provide these answers:

  1. People should be able to keep a rightful amount of what they earn themselves. We should NOT increase taxes on regular earned income (except probably a little higher at the very top), but tax inheritance since those receiving the income did not technically earn it.
  2. True, they will search for loopholes to purchase goods that hold value and/or buy items in the names of their children and have their children immediately flip for a profit. We have (or will have) the necessary tracking systems to prevent such loopholes. Those who didn't buy the initial item themselves and sell it for a profit should pay a tax on the entire value rather than just the profit.
  3. I'll restate this: everyone has the right to their own money that they earn themselves. Inheritance has only furthered a massive income inequality that has no justification since the individuals receiving the money did nothing themselves to simply "deserve" it.

It's money that's already been taxed.

It doesn't need to be taxed again...

Gifts are not taxed 95%, that would be fucking insane. No ond would ever gift anything if that were the case

Considering how many taxes exist that are taxing already taxed money, that isn't a very good argument.
