cold steel series is kinda similar to persona at least the "free time" stuff that you live out your school days (mainly in 1 and 3) and bonding points.

otherwise it isn't really similar, but the main appeal of the series is amazing worldbuilding and tons of details put on the characters even NPCs. most NPCs have name and they have their own story.

I don't think a company needs goodwill for an April Fools prank. Though for me I've felt better about them as a company for a while now. Cold Steel III translation was great outside of the item description jank and Tio being an Eight Leaves practitioner.

They also referred to Karen as a guy multiple times. I think they fixed all of that with the last patch outside of some item descriptions though.

????? the cold steel 3 translation was really mediocre and dry, Iost count of the amount of times I saw lines that were quite literally directly translated despite how awkward it sounded

I don't know what to tell you, Reis. For myself personally I didn't feel it was dry or anything. My biggest beef is the amount of haha hehe teehee, but that shit is on Falcom's end and annoyed me before NISA.

Juna was taking note of it, and originally she was about to compare the ability to what Tio does, then stops herself and says he gets the ability from Eight Leaves training like Arios. The English translation was so garbled they made it sound like Juna was calling Tio an Eight Leaves user like Arios. It was fixed in a patch, though it's still not accurate to the original. Guessing it might be a dialogue space issue, no clue.

o Created new bugs and glitches not seen in the JP release
o Massive lag during regular battles
o Can fail an area load after a battle forcing you to restart from your previous save

o Game was "patched" to work on PSTV, After a while it'll say something about location not found and will continue spamming every minute or so.

DISGAEA 4 (VITA)
o Bacial with the youngster voice has an English line that will crash the game. friend or foe can crash your game. This can be avoided by playing with Japanese voices.

o Multiple performance issues at launch

YS VIII
o The translation was so bad that the president issued a public apology and promised a re-translation, which was delivered a few months after release, but is still of questionable quality. The re-translation only affected the main story, and mostly just re-edited lines, including ones that were already fine.

While patches since release have improved it somewhat, as of July 30th 2018, 3 and a half months after release and 10 months after the initially planned release, it's still unplayable for many people and several issues remain.

hoping for another good jrpg after giving up pretty early in xenoblade 2 because it was a cliche ridden cringe fest with terrible characters
i can be pretty forgiving of cliches if the characters are engaging

Trails to the Beginning/Hajimari no Kiseki. It's an epilogue to the Sky, Crossbell and Cold Steel/Western Zemuria games. You play as 4 MCs and switch between their point of view. Rean and Lloyd from the Crossbell games are the characters that I know are confirmed to be 2 of the 4 MCs. This is a bridge point to the next set of games that will take place in Calvard. CS4 is the midpoint of the entire Trails of story according to the creator.
