Much like guns and emergency food, this should have been a thing people owned BEFORE the emergency happened.

N95s should probably be reserved for hospitals for now. Other masks are probably a good idea for everyone as long as they know they're not perfect and shouldn't be used to relax on other precautions.

Yup, there really isn't a debate anymore about the fact that they do in fact help prevent the spread of disease. Only problem is that there is a shortage so they have to be rationed with priority going hospitals first.

Maybe ease off the N-95s till we can get them to hospitals (or buy them and drop off the unopened boxes to whichever nearby hospital you find that says they are accepting them). But other masks? No, you really should buy them. Or make them if you must.

25-50% of Covid cases have no symptoms. But they can still spread it. The mask is for protecting other people, in case YOU are one of those. It also protects you by some margin too, though this depends on how good you are at actually avoiding touching your face or doing other habitual things (it won't do the wearer much good for a typical person due to such things). But it will protect others. And if others do it, then they will protect you.

OP was about masks in general. Not just n95. My answer is still yes people should wear some form of protection when going out. It is better than no protection.

I said n95s and others, I suppose I could gave been more clear, but everyone else seemed to understand that it meant masks that can actually prevent you from contacting COVID-19.

Oh ok. I say yes people should be buying them. CE has been back and forth with their opinions on masks. Some topics say they useless other go they actually protect you. It so weird. Answer is both there should be consumers types and ones for medical professionals. Just like what we do with TP. Companies make TP for regular folk and then make them for commercial businesses like schools, restaurants, etc. Just mass produce it for everyone. Other countries like China and Japan have enough for everyone.

I have a feeling if Trump says something stupid about masks anytime soon pendulum will swing back to masks helping people and we should wear them.
