I think they realize their game is going to die if they dont take more drastic steps to alter it for this new reality were currently in. Personally Ive still been able to play because I still have to report to work and theres stops right by. But most people cant. I bet most people whove played in recent months didnt even know there was a Psychic event that added the Solosis and Gothita lines this past weekend. --- I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite user on the Citadel. I hope this feature stays permanent, being able to join a raid with friends remotely would be nice.

Yeah, because a lot of people don't even bother reading the in-game news, lol Two weeks ago was the game's highest-grossing week of the year by a large margin, then last week had the paid Genesect research, so they're not exactly hurting yet. People buying Pokeballs and already having a way to spend premium passes at home (GBL) in addition to raiding from home soon, the pandemic probably isn't going to hit Niantic's bottom line very hard. --- ...
