this is a question for anybody who's been on meds or anybody with a medical background. anybody have any experience with being on meds, specifically antidepressants and sex. usually i last a few minutes but the last time i did it i lasted what felt like forever. like it was a struggle to finish. not that i mind the extra time. i'm not depressed but was given trazodone which is used for insomnia a lot of times. if i'm on this stuff long term will i always have this ability for the duration of the time i'm on it, or will it eventually go away? you can pm if you wish instead of posting here.

I don't know but I was on Mirtazipine about 10 years ago after someone close died, and I lost ALL libido, like couldn't even get a rise for myself never mind my partner at the time. Was like an overripe banana down there.

I soon dropped that shit, a few days later I was back to normal. I've vowed never to take any mind tampering nerd meds since. Well, not prescription ones anyway, I'm OK with the after market stuff I've tested many times

Thankfully it hasn't messed with my libido or boners. I knew a guy that had to take viagara in addition but he said even though he was doing the act he just wasn't into it.

I've no experience with trazodone but I can confirm that some drugs will impact it. I was terrified when I was on klonopin for anxiety years back because I heard that it can cause permanent loss of erectile function in a very small percentage of men. Like that's not a gamble I should have been taking, but of course statistics were on my side and nothing happened both while on and off of the medicine.

I did find a case report where someone was able to resolve "ejaculatory inhibition" by stopping the medicine. Case reports aren't all that conclusive and it appears this person was on a lot of other drugs.

many antidepressants manipulate the activity of serotonin, SSRIs are common and often cause ED. from a quick lookup trazodone isn't an SSRI, but it has somewhat similar properties and can apparently cause complications like erections that wont go away and possibly weakened sensitivity.

thanks for the posts guys. I did see the painful erection thing listed on the side effects which thankfully didn't happen to me. i did get a semi in the middle of the night though a couple times when i first started taking them lol
