It used to be mostly unnecessary when it first came out, but now we're constantly seeing new users (alts) and old accounts coming out of the woodwork with suspicious karma to amp ratios.

In REMs case, I just blocked him the other day, and more than half of a topics posts disappeared. It's easy to mentally ignore a user until they start flooding threads with nonsense

The point is that everything helps.

The quarantine helps

Favorable weather conditions help

Getting more data on how to deal with clusters help

Anything helps, and the more help we get the more we reduce the active cases to a manageable size and can end the shut downs.

so again what the fuck is your point other than stating the obvious? because the only other take I can get from you possibly is that "hurr durr hot weather will make this go away so trump should end the shutdown sooner"

Nope but hot weather will contribute to less spread. Less spread + border closings + quarantines = dramatic decrease in active cases (most likely - I don't have a crystal ball) like happened in China and South Korea, and then we can probably start reopening, again, like China and South Korea

There are some doom and gloomers on here who are convinced China/South Korea are unique and the rest of the world will be in full lockdown for 6+ months no matter what. They might be right but there's a lot of unknowns and things such as the above which are working against those predictions. We'll all just have to wait and see how it plays out.
