There is a broader question, though, beyond the simple binary utilitarian calculus Democrats like to make about general elections. That is, what is the consequence of continually allowing these corporatist candidates to win? What awaits us at the end of this series of Trumps and Bidens, other than a graveyard? A determination can always be made about which is better than the other, even if only marginally; neither is good, or what is needed.

The act of voting for the lesser of two evils is trivial compared to the overwhelming but important task of destroying these two parties that function to suck the life out of ordinary people as well as the planet.

that's nice but in the meantime you should deal with reality as it is instead of where you'd like it to be. Your vote isn't between biden, trump and a utopia. It's between biden and trump and the difference is not marginal. If you care about progressive causes you'll vote for the candidate that will improve people's lives, at least relative to the other. If you'd rather posture I guess you can stay home and theorize
