Maybe "good" isn't the correct word for most of CE, as the game has mediocre physics and the graphics are all over the place even for the time. (might be because I'm playing PS2 version)

But my god, it's just a lot of fun. More fun than most open world games released in the past 10 years I'd say. A real good case of someone taking a licensee that had no business being a game and somehow making it into a really fun game that stays true to the source.

I played it after playing The Godfather game a few years back. You are correct, it was fun. It did get a bit repetitive when you were doing the runs but all in all a good game.

If you play GTA Online and Scarface back to back you realize they straight up ripped off Scarfaces gameplay loop.

I wish there was backwards compatibility for the Xbox version. Maybe I'll just have to pick up a PS2 for "old" school gaming fun

Rockstar full on ripped off Scarface. The cop system and tons of mission dynamics.

i loved that game up until the point you go to that stupid island where dudes in machine gun trucks are constantly trying to kill you. before that though i was totally engrossed in the drug running stuff in the city

For all it's flaws it's a fun game. Maybe they spent a little too much money getting all those celebrity cameos. The drug dealing/smuggling and money laundering stuff was fun.

The Godfather game is pretty fun too. I wish GTA would rip off Scarface's drug and money stuff and rip off Godfather's combat and taking over rackets.

It was a good game, even if it could feel repetitive in the end.
Still sad that they canned the Xbox 360 port.

For real, the more I play it the more I notice.

Distribution is basically what every business mode in GTA Online has become.

The police escape system is 1 for 1 what they used in GTA IV

The gang system where you go into a specific area at a specific time of day and fight waves of gang members for cash/weapon drops was also in early GTA Online (probably still there and I just haven't played in forever to remember)

Even how you call in vehicles is just like early GTA Online before they just turned them into straight up spawns.

Somehow Scarface lets you buy furniture and place it around your mansion while GTA Online never implemented this for apartments. That feels like exactly the kind of microtransaction waste Rockstar would be down with.

I remember playing it back on the PS2, it bored the hell out of me so I quit less than a quarter into it. And that map, don't get me started. That's supposed to be Miami?

It wasn't a bad game. Can get repetitive after awhile though. I completed it 100%.

Was kinda cool seeing places from the movie.

It's actually sad how blatant it was.

And no one seemed to notice or care.
