None of my redneck family watches professional wrestling anymore, they were obsessed with it up until like the early to mid 2000's I think.
My sister is obsesssed with wrestling though, but she never really liked it until the rest of the family stopped caring around the early to mid 2000's. All of her friends are obsessed with wrestling too, on top of a bunch of other nerdy things. What happened? Was it just a shift that happened in the 2000's? All the normal fans got run off through WWF/E's shitty booking and buying WCW. All that's left are the nerds who were obsessed with wrestling and most of these promotions and wrestlers cater to them with their flips, neckbeardy meta humor, and video game and anime re-enactments. Unless WWE does it. Then it sucks.
