Let's say you come across a campfire with a bunch of silver boblins, black moblin, and black stalfos. How do you go about defeating them?

I've been using guerrilla warfare, and have one chase me so I can beat them one-on-one with weapons I don't mind breaking. I don't want to use food items if I can help it, unless I just want to get it over with quickly.

Just curious what everyone likes to do.

Get to a high point, paraglide off, slo-mo fire a couple bombs arrows in the mob center (bonus if you have a Lynel Bow or other multi-hit bow, which you should save for crowd-control situations like this). This will wipe out the small fries and do considerable damage to the mid-tier enemies. Concentrate on eliminating the remaining enemies that can't be knocked down by bombs, and chuck a bomb at the rest any time you need some breathing room. Fall back on fire / ice / shock arrows if you're having trouble controlling a heavy hitter.

Triple attack up and spin to win. Easiest and highest DPS way to deal with a group of random mobs.

Personally I would use an attack boost whenever dealing with silver enemies just to minimize wasting your time. No reason to smack some lizard around for five minutes when I can do it in 20 seconds with boosts imo.

And attack boosters are basically required in Master Mode imo.

I find myself just buying them from the stores in the main towns. As long as you're diligent in blowing up the mineral vanes each time you see one, you are essentially rich.

The reasons to engage with random mobs are the following:

1) Silver and higher enemies are a great way to farm jewels (and therefore Rupees).
2) You need a lot of monster parts to upgrade some armors.
3) They are a good way to acquire more weapons if you're fighting efficiently.
4) Trading them in to Kilton for the stuff he sells.

If you aren't interested in those things I could see why it's not worth it. But honestly half the time they're easier to just kill than run away from.

Yeah although for the last one, I haven't seen too many useful items yet. I haven't tried out the bokoboblin mask but if it actually does make me blend in with a group of them, total gamechanger.

It will basically help you get sneak strikes in. But if you hang around too close they'll find out.

Frankly, Kilton doesn't sell anything particularly useful, especially if you have the DLC and have access to Majora's Mask. But he does sell stuff that's pretty neat aesthetically.

I haven't been selling the stuff I'm mining though, I thought they were going to be needed for super upgrading super weapons.

And I haven't traded 10 luminous stones for a diamond in zora's domain since the first couple of times since I felt those will be needed later too. Plus I don't know if it's the most profitable outcome.

Btw, be sure to get any shooting star pieces you see drop. They're a pain to get, but if you want to upgrade certain items you need multiple of them. They only spawn in certain places under a full moon, so it's probably the most annoying item to farm in the game.

I decided to buy the dlc after all even though I felt it was too expensive for the amount of content it seemingly has in the description.

I didn't read what was included since I only have 1 divine beast and don't want spoilers but the masks actually have a use? I thought they were cosmetic. Although if the korok mask has been useful in helping me find seeds so far, the rest must have their benefits too?

Selling 10 luminous stones is more profitable than selling a diamond. But it is way easier to find luminous stones than diamonds. So I wouldn't do the trade unless you have specific upgrades in mind.

And jewels are used to upgrade jewelry and high level armor upgrades.

Ah a full moon is when they drop?

Yeah I missed one by like 5 minutes (5 in-game minutes, can you imagine how infuriating) and was fuming. I still haven't got one yet but now that I can make elixirs that boost my speed, the next time I see one I'm just gonna run as fast as I can to it.

They appear during a full moon? Is it every time? And how do I know if it's a full moon, is it related to the blood moon?

Majora's Mask will work as a disguise for any monster. It's basically all of Kilton's masks rolled into one. The only other armor with a special ability from the DLC (that I'm aware of) is the Wind Waker shirt, which has a hidden effect of greatly increases the speed of your raft when sailing with a Korok leaf.

This. Any time you see a shooting star, drop whatever it is you're doing, put on the full Sheikah outfit (for nighttime movement boost), pop a fortify speed potion / food item, and haul ass towards the glimmer in the distance.

If you have any interest in improving your equipment late-game, you don't want to have reached that point without already accumulating a decent amount of star pieces.

I believe it needs to be a full moon, and certain areas will trigger a star to drop. So not every time. The best farming method involves waiting over and over at a fire until the full moon is back (there is an NPC you can talk to to learn the moon phase), teleport to a spot which will spawn the fragment, then run to it.

Wait the sheikah outfit? Is it that one set in kakariko village? I never got it because it was too expensive at the time. I thought it boosted my stealth, it has an additional effect of speed?

The set bonus (which is unlocked with two armor upgrades of each piece) is increased speed at night. Not every set has a set bonus.

Most outfits have a bonus when you equip the full set; the sheikah outfit boosts your movement speed during nighttime in addition to the sneak bonus. Well worth the investment as soon as you're able to afford it.

EDIT and I forgot you need to upgrade them first, sorry about that.

1. If I'm trying to farm for rupees it's still more efficient to just farm dragon scales.
3. Don't need to farm for weapons if you're not using weapons, but the hidden cache in the desert by one of the towers and the weapons trials shrines always kept me fully stocked.

2 and 4 are great points though.

Dragons reliably appear at certain times of day in certain places. There is an extremely efficient strategy where you can rest at a bonfire, get like 5 or 6 scales, and then just rest at the bonfire again and repeat.

Yeah, but in Master Mode at least I don't mind killing off a group of guys I run into because like half of them will drop precious gems, especially if I'm hunting for Korok seeds and just want some peace lol. I used to avoid them a lot in normal mode, but I've had to learn how to kill things efficiently just to get to the late game in MM so it's sort of a painless process. If I went back to normal I'd probably feel the same. But on the other hand, it's so mindless that's it's not all that interesting, so I can understand people basically only being interested in Lynel hunting by the end (if that). I guess I just enjoy it more than other people, and feel like I get some nice benefits doing something along the way without having to grind.

The jewels are also nice for upgrades.

Yeah, any time you see a dragon flying around you can shoot them with an arrow for either a scale or a horn shard (depending on where you hit). I wouldn't worry about farming them until late game, but you should keep a long range bow for whenever you see one. Edit: But know that, unlike shooting stars, they are very easy to farm.

Tbh, some may think this information ITT is treading a little on the spoiler side, but imo you're at the point in the game where you'd benefit more from knowing some of the mechanics than finding them out after you already beat the game like many of us lol.

On the subject of long range bows, I have a phrenic bow that I've been saving for those kinda occasions, but if there's a better bow for longer range I hope to encounter it soon.

A lot of useful information itt, but right now I think I want to do my second divine beast (doing the power of wind, the bird beast) and gather as many korok seeds as possible to increase my inventory.

Also is 3 pages of food inventory the max for the entire game? Just curious.
