Our healthcare system can't cope. There isn't a healthcare system in the world that can. America has about one million ICU beds in the entire country. How the fuck is the healthcare system going to "cope" when an estimated 150-200 million people will get this thing? Shitloads of people are going to die. We need to le as run to accept that and move on. This isn't something we can prevent. We aren't going to be able to save everyone or even most of the elderly that get this. Italy has finally realized this. They are now not even bothering to help anyone over 60. So many people there have it that if you are 60 or over in Italy and get the virus then you don't get a ventilator because there just aren't enough to go around. That is essentially a death sentence unless you get super lucky and your own body can fight it off. This is the exact same thing that will happen in America. There will come a point when we will eventually say "they had their time" and stop helping the old people in an effort to try and save the young and let them have their future. By all experts accounts we are about ten days behind Italy.
