One thing that always stood out about it when younger, was how incredibly worthless it was for hydrating/thirst. I wouldn't be surprised if alcoholic beverages are better at it.

If you drink an entire can of coca-cola, you won't be as sated if you drank water. But you at least somewhat feel it kicking in.
Drink a can of hawaiian punch and it will might as well not exist, hell you'll probably be worse off.

I know this because there was a time I could chug two entire cans of it back to back and noticed how unbelievably unique it was. It really sucked when that was the only drink available... outside of water from the tap, but water is for squares and horses out at the trough.

When I was a kid I used to eat tang without mixing it with water, just open it and dump some in your palm and toss it your mouth, that was more hydrating than Hawaiian Punch

Also this explains why they were weird as hell in the fridge. I forgot how if they were in the fridge the can would be cold, but the liquid was warm feeling.

Now I want some.

Never really paid attention to that, but I do seem to remember it being extra syrupy which would make sense that it doesn't get quite as cold.
