I basically know nothing of it. I understand the gameplay and I could enjoy that. But I hear ppl of the series are bit dissappointed of this new one removing lot of stuff?

Well if you don't know what you're missing, all the more likely you'll enjoy it tbh

It's made by Splatoon team so some series staples items aren't going to be in the game until later free DLC updates. You wouldn't be aware of what's gone.

Animal Crossing is a slice of life game where you collect fish and bugs and fruit to buy furniture for your house and pay off your mortgage. In the process you meet and speak to the other villagers living there who you can befriend.

It's my first one too, but from my understanding, it's alot like My time in Portia, or Stardew Valley

ive played wild world and new leaf. you start a life in a new town, explore the town, catch fish, catch bugs, design your house, make friends with animals, make money by selling things you find. build up a museum collection, build up an aquarium collection, bug collection.

is there a goal? eh sure, complete the aquarium, museum, etc. pay off your house. but does the game push you in that direction at all? not really. you could not do it and teh game will still be fun.

also the time is real time. its not like stardew or harvest moon where you're like "ok done for the day, time for things to reset" nah you just stop playing and come back tomorrow. sure you could change the clock on your switch but what a hassle.

and yes, there are seasonal bugs/fish/items that they intend for you to just wait for that season for.

but honestly who cares. the game is full of charm and fun and with all the new building mechanics they added, this looks amazing.

It's far more like Portia than Stardew Valley. From what I've played of them, Animal Crossing is very basic and boring compared to things like Stardew Valley.

Animal Crossing also goes on a real clock, I think.

I dunno how you can say a game is boring compared to Stardew Valley. AC at least has much better characters and dialogue. Maybe it's just me but Stardew Valley farming feels more tedious than fun.

SV farming also has Island Syndrome, as long as you're tending to your farm there's no distraction with you. Part of the genius of Animal Crossing is that hunting for bugs, river fish, fossils, and weeds necessarily brings you in contact with roaming villagers.

Because there is a lot of things you can do in Stardew Valley just on your farm. Get milk from the cows, turn the milk into cheese. Get the eggs from the chickens. All the farming, all the things to build, all the people to talk to, ect.

Maybe it was just the one I played [Wild World is the one I played, I think. Cover art looks correct], but there was no leaving the town in the one I played, unless I was just stupid and overlooked it. I think I could go to other people's towns on your friends list, but it wasn't hooked up to the Internet. It was a boring, basic town with nothing to do but catch a bug or two and maybe collect some flowers. It was terribly boring to me
