Do you think that well see an increase in depression/suicides during this time period?

Isolating yourself when youre depressed isnt good so I would imagine being forced to isolate wouldnt help.

I ask this question as someone who deals with a certain amount of depression themselves and can fall into that pitfall of self isolation when I get really down. Im trying to stay hopeful but the thought of limited interaction for months is really starting to freak me out.

It will happen. I'm a very depressed person and I can already feel it hurting me more and more during this time, and I haven't even finished the first week of this month+ that I will be off of work. I can't even go someplace to get my mind off of it since I don't drive and my options are limited. Now bowling, going to the movie, a concert, the bar, a game store, ect. It's going to very rough, it already is

Yes, as economic uncertainty to economic stagnation always does. We will probably also see an increase in divorces from the quarantining when this all blows over.

i'm gonna say that general anxiety is through the roof right now with jobs, finances, looking after children, etc. and with social distancing, isolation and lockdowns, that's going to hit people who are living alone the hardest.

all of this is before we even consider catching the actual virus. so yeah, it's not a great time for mental health.
