We're currently still going as long as there is work. It's a service business, so really depends how many people still want us. Tomorrow, we normally would have had 30 jobs, but now we have like eight. Definitely going to hurt the next few weeks. Hopefully this doesn't last months.

if oil stays this low then maybe i won't have that option!

I might be quitting today. my job never closed down. but I am thinking of either making this my last day or if I feel up to it, give 2 weeks notice and tough it out a little longer. but my job is nothing. it's a 4 day a week part time minimimum wage job. but it's at a hospital and fuck that shit. i'm sick of going in there and having panic attacks

So far my job is staying open. I see it staying open until either state/ feds mandate it to shut down, or customers coming in becomes extremely scarce for an extended period of time, causing the company to lose money just staying open.

Unfortunately that doesn't mean i will continue getting paid however. I'm a flat rate mechanic, meaning i get paid a set amount per job i do, no base hourly pay. Meaning if i come in for the next two weeks and no customers come in, therefore no jobs to do, i will get paid nothing. Going into work and being there all day not getting paid sounds quite terrible. So i hope this doesn't continue to drag on and get worse.

I'm quitting my job today. last night was the final straw. telling the boss in about an hour. going back to being a neet, so at least I can be how I am comfortable before the world ends. I never liked working anyway

If I didn't have a house to close on in the next couple months, I'd have quit my job already. I work for a large corporation that has gotten ahead of any "essential" work only restrictions and already set themselves up to keep us working thanks to the greediness but excusing it as us being integral to communication and infrastructure that people rely on. If true, they'd close up the sales and general consumer aspect of business and only do it through online/telephone for every stupid person that wants to come socialize, and restrict in person to first responders or other prioritized people, maybe even go delivery.

I chose to work there though, knowing what they were like before I even started to make a decent paycheck...I just wish I didn't work with so many tools. Numerous colleagues qualify for high-risk PTO the company is offering full pay and bonuses for the month, and they still make excuses to not take it off...they'll literally make less than if they took it off because our sales are going to be down and they're trending less than the bonuses would be with the PTO. Yet I can't take it off without risking my job or going unpaid because I don't qualify (unless I get the virus).

We supply components to medical and defense suppliers so we're good as long as everybody stays healthy. Probably better suited than most to come back after too.
