Should I pick up the original PSX version or is WOTL on PSP good enough?

The PSP version is, IMO, the definitive edition.

There's a patch to fix the slowdown. You need a hacked PSP to use it though.

A2 is great if you like the core gameplay. Absolutely ungodly amount of content in that game, but it's all very similar.

WotL runs fine on Android. I wish A2 was faster. It has a super slow gameplay.

There's a patch to fix the slowdown. You need a hacked PSP to use it though.

I just happened to get a ready to hack psp recently but i haven't looked into it

Never played A2, but I've 100% Advance several times and played it to death.

Mainly just due to having limited GBA games as a kid, but it's one of my favourite titles ever.

I hear the mobile version of FFT is the best one since it is just the PSP version without the slowdowns.

I tried playing it on my iPad, but I didn't really like the touchscreen controls. If they would add controller support I'd call it the definitive version.

Square can write the story, but let Nippon Ichi design the gameplay. I love tactics, but the disgaea series has an unbelievable wealth of QoL features that make it painful to play older tactics games.

Normal Final Fantasy does it. What is so bad about another FFT? I dont mean in the same world. It would be just like in the main series. A totally new story unrelated

Even with the similar gameplay they're quite different, so eh.

Personally, I'd say that Advance at least has a lot of replayability. A2 has none in that regard since the game railroads you a lot harder.

FFTA would be better without the laws.

laws are a complete fucking non issue because you can just move around the map to manipulate them in your favour most of time

A2 is so much better than A1. The laws actually create a "challenge" for the mission that's tailored around the map itself, and it's not mandatory to do them. In A1 you just keep walking around the map until you're fighting under the laws that aren't cumbersome and difficult -- it's so unnecessary, tedious, annoying, and doesn't add much.
