Im not hoarding, but if shit comes down to it, Im going to take your shit, if it really comes down to it, Ill eat you

If it ever got that bad people like you're pretending to be would get shot quickly by the communities you think you're going to waltz into and take over. Not me, not saying I'll shoot you. I mean, I will. But I mean my neighbors are going to shoot you when you try to rob me. And once that happens just one time, the next time anyone trying to come down our road will be greeted at what amounts to a check point by one or three guys with AR-15s and asked to leave.

We aren't cave men who are going to lose all sense of community because the lights go out. We'd form tribes, and the tribe will defend it's members. Unless it's a near extinction level event (and no one thinks it will be, but it could get really really bad) it's not going to last long enough for wars to start between different neighborhoods or the apartment building three blocks down starts armed raids against the townhouses around the corner.

So get over the fallout fantasy of you're just going to be a raider. Even if it got that bad only the biggest and baddest groups would last more than a month in a country with more guns than people. And even they would probably suffer enough loses to rethink their survival plans fairly quickly.

The first hoarder creates a ripple effect causing others to react hoard out of fear of being left high and dry. Its a damn snowball effect. And creates panic in and of itself. If everyone could some how act normal there would be nothing to fear.

in a zombie apocalypse it would make sense to hoard because nothing is being manufactured anymore. But in this case nothing is stopping. And even if it did it wouldnt be long enough to cause a real shortage if everyone acted normal.

When it comes down to it we are in an age when we are getting information some true a lot false from every which direction, and governments like China and the US withholding information so of course this is going to be clusterfuck. We need a better system and education to prevent shit like this.

Don't get me wrong I tended to socially isolate myself and never trusted people my whole life, but looking at the bigger picture is that life and nature itself is pure chaos. So no shit people are going to need guidance nobody can navigate that shit on their own. Instinct is programming but not necessarily good programming.

The funniest thing I've seen from this is a lady having her entire cart filled with milk gallons. Like...you do know that shit's gonna go bad after a couple weeks, right?

I used to have a separate freezer for stuff, it was about the size of a regular fridge, but the amount that she bought would not fit into one of those even if it was the only thing in there.

Sadly I live in a small apartment and can't really hoard tons of food in my small fridge. I'll be picking up groceries today. Usually I just have them delivered to my house, but I see that's off the cards for the next few weeks. Hopefully, there is enough left for me to have a week's worth of food.

my uncle decided to buy one. it works really well. before i couldn't store much frozen food but i can store lots compared to a tiny freezer compartment (used to have a better freezer but had to find a hand me down) because fridges are expensive and my landlord didn't want to bother to cover it.

didn't cost much either.

Just FYI I've seen some of the local schools handing out free care packages with weekly groceries for needy families, and one of the items they include is milk
