we havent even seen the worst of the crash yet from the coronavirus, bitcoin is guaranteed to go down again

This is the first time my 401(k) balance has ever been down year over year

My crypto balance is still up tho. Bitcoin is up 25% over last year.

Yeah I put in a sell limit order of $725 (will be about $442 profit for me) just in case... it's so hard to get this one right, I don't want to trigger the sell limit but it's also so volatile it could easily drop to 725 then just shoot up again.

Looks like it was a 179% return since Friday, not bad for a few days work lol

I might stay out of the market for a few days to see what happens... I want to get in on Apple and the airlines once we hit bottom. That shit was intense lol

Thats what I did about a year ago. Was down like 80-90% a few months ago and even held through a reverse split, and am now at triple my investment and Ive already recouped my initial cash investment.

My 401(k) in reality surely is not, but our company switched to Voya and all I can see is the growth since they made the change.

I certainly dont think fear and volatility are going away anytime soon. News keeps getting worse and worse on this, and there still is the general uncertainty and nervousness that comes in a heated election year.

Im still in TVIX for the near term, and will just cash fractional shares in to whittle away cash as needed. Im also getting into SQQQ for some near term hedging.

Been selling call spreads for maybe a month and a half. SPY, AAPL, MSFT, DIS, and NVDA. It isn't big money but the risk is low and in this market very unlikely to expire ITM.

You can invest in it just like any other stock on any stock trading platform. VIX is a measurement on how volatile the S&P 500 is, TVIX is an index that basically trades at double what the VIX does (you can't invest in VIX, but you can follow it). Basically TVIX goes waay up when the market crashes, but goes waay down when it goes up. It is high risk/high reward taken to the extreme. However w/ the virus going around you can make a shit ton off of it right now

It is all short term capital gains, so you will have to report each trade next year and pay whatever your tax bracket is on that income, probably 20 to 30%.

Also if you are legit day trading (buying and selling securities in the same day) and you don't have a $25k account your broker will ding you for pattern day trading and eventually shut you down.

I'm up a few grand the last two weeks just playing the stupid patterns. Puts late Friday sell Monday, buy puts Tuesday afternoon and sell Wednesdays. There has been a heavy rally the last few Fridays in the afternoon. Sold some puts today and I'm going to try taking advantage of that this week.

I also have a few longer puts on DIS and LVS that are all well in the money with 3/27 expirations. It feels weird to be making money when so many things are going bad. I would rather be making it in calls.

Anyone buying DOG? It's an ETF which is essentially the inverse of the DOW, so if the DOW goes down then DOG goes up.

It's currently at around $68 I believe.

I might plow back into TVIX tomorrow, it's looking like a solid bounce back day for the market, and I bet we get another round of business closures and city shutdowns on Friday and over the weekend
