The Government is getting accused by some of trying to pass it in secret while everyone is focused on COVID-19.

The law would give the Police the right to take your fingerprints, photograph you and apprehend you if they have the suspicion that you might be in the country illegally. There is no need to have actual evidence, just a feeling.

The critics mean it could lead to racial profiling and persecution from the State simply because you dont look Swedish and happen to walk down the street.

The supporters and the Centre-Left Government think it can further maintain order and make sure the people who reside in this country got a right to be here.

This is where it all falls apart. The law might have the right intentions but with rules this vague it's obviously going to be taken advantage of by corrupt officers. Look at America for example.

I agree. There needs to be more substance behind apprehending someone. Otherwise were in a Police State.

There was a radical shift in opinions and laws after 2015.

The far-right party Sverigedemokraterna, founded in 1988 by a literal Nazi who served Hitler, is 2nd or 1st in recent polls.

I support it. If you're not doing anything wrong you don't have anything to worry about.
