Everybody in America should not suddenly shut down. I do not have regular contact with any high risk people and I myself am not in a high risk group. I will not treat this like the zombie plague, I'm still going to go see some movies that are coming out in the next couple of months, I'm still hitting the store whenever I need something, and if I really want something from a restaurant I'm going to go get it.

It is the people who are at high risk themselves or who have regular contact with high risk people that need to be avoiding public social gathering areas.

AOC didnt say shut down. She said just be considerate and think twice which is smart advice to limit the spread of something that was declared a national emergency. Even people who dont feel symptoms can have it and spread it.

Those people working need money and need to continue making a living if people don't go then they will close down the business as well. Be considerate and don't go out to eat. the best way to prevent spreading the virus is by not going out right now. that's why sports and events are being shut down. she is asking the general public (mainly those under 40 who can have the virus without showing symptoms) to be considerate and limit the amount of time they spend out right now...There is no force on her part. She is just saying the honest truth about the spread of this disease (Which again, has been declared a national emergency)...no need to get all ass hurt about that lol. People are Trump's conference at Pence's response team have echoed similar sentiments. There is no reason to get all upset just because you hate AOC's politics. This transcends all that.

You really going to try to portray anybody who doesn't agree with her as being "ass hurt?" Grow the fuck up. What she is saying is not reasonable for where things are at right now. The people who are at high risk and people who regularly interact with those at high risk should be the ones staying out of public spaces as much as they can, not every single healthy person who isn't in a high risk group.

No, we're not there yet, and I have no doubt at all that fast food restaurants going to drive through only is entirely based on them wanting the least chance of their employees getting sick to the point that they have to shut down locations completely.

Nothing that you are saying is actually disputing the fact that it is the people who are in or have frequent contact with those in high risk groups that need to be taking those extreme precautions, not every single person.

I live with... not high risk, but higher than normal risk people, so I'm as careful as I can be, though it's diffucult when you're management in retail.

So for people like that, who just openly do not give a shit, it bothers me.
