So let me get this straight, about a month ago when Trump blocked flights from China, he was said to be overreacting, and was called racist for doing that, right? Now his critics are saying he hasnt done enough. You do realize how stupid this is, right? Explain the contradiction that I just spelled out for you. Help me to understand this circular logic. Dont worry, Im patient, Ill wait.

Look, Im not even saying that Trump necessarily handled this crisis particularly well, but considering what I just said, his critics dont really have any wiggle room here for being credible. If youre someone who complained that Trump blocked flights from China, but are now saying that he didnt do enough, then there might be something wrong with you. With your brain.

I will wait for someone to reconcile the goofy logic that Trumps critics have employed in the last month. Im all ears. What, did some of you think that wed forget what the anti-Trump crowd were saying just a few weeks ago, and not compare it to the rhetoric now?

1. Its been proven that the democrats are using the racist rhetoric with this crisis, so a few posters are wrong there.
2. It doesnt matter if a travel ban would actually change anything, that doesnt change the fact that Trumps critics are being hypocrites.
3. A travel ban WOULD in fact have been affective if Trump had blocked ALL entry into the U.S. back in January. Of course, if he had actually done that, the TDS would have flared up to extreme levels back then. And thats kind of the point of this thread. If Trump HAD done extreme measures in the first place, his critics would have whined endlessly about it. And they did, even with the minor things he did do, like ban some flights from China last month.

The problem is that they didn't do anything to follow up after the travel ban.

There is no proof travel bans stop the spread of something like this, only slow it, and even that is somewhat debatable, especially to the degree it does so.

So basically, if science shows your travel ban is only going to delay an epidemic outbreak by a few weeks on its own, and in that time span you do nothing else to mitigate it, then it is, legitimately, fucking pointless.
