Disclaimer, I don't care about the NBA

But basically the post was that long post about how bad things are in Italy because of the virus.

My response is - I get it, but what exactly do you want me to do about it? Fly to italy and cure people?

It's not like we can do anything other than click share and move on. Why does everything have to be a pissing match of "my problem > your problem?"

People have a hardon for "spreading awareness" for things that literally everyone is already aware of.

It's not the awareness that's the problem. People should share things like that straight from (what is hopefully) a legitimate source. Awareness is good.

It's the fact that she had to turn it into a pissing match by devaluing everyone else's problems.

"Your basketball problems" is a pretty uneducated thing to say about jobs being lost, a multi-billion dollar industry shutting down, and all other kinds of problems, including the same problems that she's posting about when the virus eventually explodes here too.

I'm not gonna sit here and say that no sports is a bigger problem than thousands of deaths in a pandemic. Because I shouldn't have to. Nobody should. We all know the shit Italy's going through is far worse than the NBA/NCAA being cancelled. It goes without saying. Yet she feels the need to secure the moral high ground on some perceived shallow victory when the truth is, nobody disagrees with her.

It doesn't need to be said. It just shows her own insecurity.
