The excitement of walking across the stage and receiving your diploma while your friends and family cheer for you is so fucking awesome though and so many are going to miss that once in a lifetime experience :(

Actually it does. Technically speaking the graduation ceremony is just that, a ceremony designed to honor those graduation. The diploma is what matters in the end and even if the ceremony is canceled you'll still have passed the class and graduated, it will just feel really crappy in the short term.

college graduations are usually mid May. HS is late May or early June. Might be gone by June, but I wouldnt hold your breath.

TC already knows diplomas can be sent in the mail. But he obviously still wants to go to the ceremony and he's wondering if graduation ceremonies are DOA

And nobody actually wants to stay home and just receive it in the mail

My little brother is a senior in HS and theyre already talking about canceling senior prom. I feel awful for those kids. I hope the dust settles by then, but I dont see it happening =\

All graduations are to perhaps be only done via screen?

Especially since High Schoolers are way below the fatal line. Theyll be perfectly fine.

Yeah it sucks. We are having meetings on whether or not to cancel the upcoming spring graduation for our campus. They're not even talking about postponing it. Either it's happening on the original date or it isn't.
