Now hear me out. Freddie was an amazing singer and he was still great live. Live Aid was especially moving. The only thing I'm referring to is his legendary range. I've watched a ton of live performances of Queen and I was surprised that, when it comes to the super high, belting chest notes he's legendary for on tracks like "The show must go on" and "Don't stope me now" and other such hits, he doesn't do them live or strains significantly. I know he had vocal nodes, but still...

I cant imagine that wouldnt apply to all vocalists. Taking the best take out of dozens is going to yield a result thats above average.

Remember artists are on tour and will perform multiple 1-3 hour shows per week. It's common for them to avoid songs that will fuck up their voice.
