Why so much stigma around the idea of helping pay to help out the american people in healthcare? Is it really they don't trust the government to do it or they just don't want to pay extra out of pocket?

They have no problem increasing their military budget to astronomical levels but how often does America go to war compared to millions of people who are in need of healthcare but can't afford it? Why does the military get to have an unlimited amount of green?

They also have no problem giving money to charities and poor countries but why so stingy when it comes to their own people? Why do they feel their own people should not get access to healthcare?

My guess is they believe they are in a first world country and everyone should be able to get a job, a house and a family and still be able to afford healthcare because of insurance.

I have problems with ANYONE paying that much regardless of who's pocket it's coming out of. Why does the US pay 10 times more for insulin than Canada? I don't want my tax money to be paying pharmaceutical companies a giant margin. I want my tax dollars to pay the same that Canada is paying.

Severe lack of patent and tort reforms, along with regulatory capture somehow convincing us that US-made insulin sold in Canada is somehow not "safe" to bring back across the border for some reason.

Its what happens when lobbyists are allowed to encourage members of Congress to put addendums into bills that are supposed to regulate the industry but instead allow the corporations to price gouge in perpetuity.

Military superiority does not just provide a means to enact war, it also helps prevent it. Other countries might gnash their teeth and bark a lot about taking on the US, but they generally dont do anything concrete because nobody wants drones and fast attack submarines on their doorstep. Of course, the potential for nuclear destruction is also a real threat that enemy forces should not recklessly dismiss. And keep in mind that it costs a lot of money to be capable of responding almost anywhere in the world in a relatively short amount of time.

Most people don't realize that private health insurance in the US was a measure by the gov't to keep people from negotiating higher wages from employers.

Then employers stopped providing insurance.

there's a difference between helping people and voting for people that take your money at gunpoint under the guise of helping people but have a track record for not actually doing so effectively
