Every game at this point is legitimately just a reskin of the others. There's basically been no major changes to the game play in a decade.

Movie 2 Game is using a variant of the Worlds engine, and it sucks.

Going open world seemed like a pretty big change

DC Superheroes came out in 2012, for last gen. While "decade" may have been a little strong, there's been very little change since then. Still gotta collect all the gold bricks in a level, still gotta collect a certain # of studs in each level by destroying as much of the environment as you can, still gotta find a red brick, still gotta replay every level at least once with characters you unlock later so you can 100% the level...

I just started DC Super-Villains last night and the "novel" feature of this game is that the custom character you create in the beginning is actually incorporated into the story and you unlock things for that character as you progress, although I'm now in the second level and my character is nowhere to be found???

I honestly forgot that game existed, which says a lot about how it turned out.

Like even LEGO Dimensions largely plays the same as the mainline games.

I feel like Lego Worlds really doesn't get enough credit. People sort of dismiss it as a Minecraft clone, but the level of detail in building stuff basically makes it almost a perfect sandbox Lego game. Like, I used to dream about having a Lego game like this. I bought it for my kid years ago and he still plays it
